Reliance Entertainment and Imtiaz Ali form Window Seat Films, LLP

Anil D. Ambani owned Reliance Entertainment and one of the popular Bollywood filmmakers, Imtiaz Ali, today announced the formation of Window Seat Films, LLP, a 50:50 Joint Venture for production of movies. This is Reliance Entertainment’s fifth creative partnership with Indian filmmakers to form a production company.

Imtiaz Ali has received wide appreciation and acclaim from audiences and critics alike, in addition to blockbuster success at the box office. He has won several awards over the years since the release of his first film in 2005. Starting with Socha Na Tha, Imtiaz has made several films with new comers and superstars alike. His filmography includes Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, Tamasha, Highway and Jab Harry Met Sejal. Some of his films have achieved a sort of cult status with the youth in India and abroad.

This creative and business mix will benefit from the artistic abilities of Imtiaz, and the global marketing and distribution capabilities of Reliance Entertainment.

Amitabh Jhunjhunwala, Vice Chairman, Reliance Entertainment, said, “We are proud to have Imtiaz as our partner. He is a person of deep simplicity and humility despite his enormous successes, and we are looking forward to making great movies together.”

Commenting on the partnership, Imtiaz Ali said,“There is a common vision that Window Seat Films & Reliance Entertainment share in terms of the content that we’d like to make, the kind of stories we’d like to tell and the way we’d like to collaborate in running this partnership. Working under this partnership is like working for myself. ”

Reliance Entertainment has produced, distributed and released more than 300 films in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, etc.

Reliance Entertainment already has creative partnerships with Phantom Films (Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwane), Rohit Shetty Picturez, Plan C Studios (Neeraj Pandey) and Y NOT Films (S. Sashikanth).

She also said that now she will have to accept the reality that Taimur responds to the paps but hopes that as he grows up, he would realise to keep it real and balanced.

Kareena Kapoor Khan has been running from pillar to post promoting Veere Di Wedding with co-stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. Yesterday while she was busy with promotional activities and shooting for some advertisement, she caught a break and chilled with both: hubby Saif Ali Khan and doting son Taimur Ali Khan in the city!

If Kareena is not at home, she makes sure that Taimur visits her on sets. Yesterday, as soon as she finished promoting her film, hubby Saif dropped by her sets and she is seen conversing him on the sets. He was not alone! Taimur had accompanied him and Bebo’s joy knew no bounds. Also, see the happy trooper Taimur walking away merrily holding both his parents hands! This sure is a Kodak moment! He looks genuinely pleased in the company of his mom and dad.

 

Kareena spoke about the challenges of raising Taimur, being a working mother and revealed that she could not have done that without the support of her hubby Saif who also is juggling his acting career while maintaining a work-life balance. He is currently shooting and hence Bebo will take a break till November until she signs her next film.

Kedarnath controversy gets murkier: Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is dragged to court over date issues

Just when we thought that the shoot of Kedarnath has resumed smoothly, the trouble has nowhere ended for the film. In a nightmare of sorts, now yet again disputes started brewing on the sets to the extent that Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan has been dragged to court over date issues.

Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor was all set to launch Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan with Kedarnath. According to an agreement that was signed in last September, the actress had agreed to play the female lead. Furthermore, she had even allotted a chunk of dates for shoot. But the Guy In The Sky Productions Pvt Ltd, which belongs to Abhishek Kapoor, has now dragged Sara to the court after her agent revealed that she doesn’t have enough dates.

The matter ensued when Sara Ali Khan was informed that the shoot of Kedarnath would continue throughout May until July 5. But the actress’ agent informed the film’s team that Sara wouldn’t be available in June as she is supposed to shoot another film during the same time period. This has miffed the makers of Kedarnath who are now demanding Rs. 5 crores as damages after the actress’ sudden back out from the dates allotted.

The makers of Kedarnath have been arguing in the court about whether an actor can change the dates allotted to a film and lend it for another film.

As for the film itself, it will star Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. After the exit of KriArj from the producers list, Kedarnath is taken over by Ronnie Screwvala, who is now the sole producer of the film.
